Lake Superior
  South Shore Tour

This Rustic Camping Tour
will bring you from beautiful Gogebic County,
the Western Gateway of Michigan’s
Upper Peninsula,
to the northern tip of the Keweenaw
and Copper Harbor.

Here you will Discover
some of the Midwest’s best
and exhilarating single-tracks,

one of the largest old-growth
white pine forest reserves,

miles of lake view hiking,
and a chance to Explore
the mining, and logging history of
the Keweenaw culture.

You will then stroll along Lake Superior’s southern shoreline east to the scenic Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!

Kayaking at the base of these spectacularly colorful
sandstone cliffs will be an experience
never to forget!

There are more single-track options,
waterfall touring, and miles of wooded
hiking trails that lead you out to
the
cliffs for a top view perspective of one of

the U.P.’s most famous natural attractions!

We continue our tour eastward along the
National Lakeshore to some of the
best sand beaches in the Upper Peninsula

– The Grand Sable Dunes!

The tour will wrap up with a
turn-around westward to
the Lake of the Clouds
in the Porcupine Mountains.

We’ll hike along cascading rivers
as they empty into
Ol’ Gitchi Gami,

then camp near the edge of Lake Superior,
and cook up a regional tradition of
Friday Fish Fry
over an open campfire!

This tour finishes back in Gogebic County pedaling
the local mountain bike trails, or scenic backroads.

How are you with Heights??
